The Multi-Coloured Music Show (1981)

Concept and creative process

Opening titles for a children's entertainment show, broadcast on Saturday mornings and early afternoons in the late 1970s and early 1980s, with guests and pop music performances. The title sequence consisted of footage of live performances vignetted over a background animated montage of a poster wall, still frames of music artists with added button badges and Bryan Ferry appearing out of a background of stars. The sequence was created in a rostrum camera shoot together with the ‘Multi-Coloured Music Show’ title caption, designed and airbrushed to look metallic.
