Miss Marple (1985)

Concept and creative process

Opening titles for a detective drama series featuring Agatha Christie's unassuming amateur sleuth solving a series of murders. The sequence of beautiful monochrome illustrations of the village activities and its inhabitants was shot entirely on a rostrum camera with some zooms. The grand house and its high garden wall were artwork on separate levels in order to create an interesting parallax effect as the camera zoomed in on the lone figure observing from behind the animated net curtains.
