Holiday Snaps - version 2 (1999)

Concept and creative process

The opening titles for a selection of BBC ‘Holiday’ programme destinations from the archives. The designer took a fantasy approach to the subject and shot a stills sequence of a person turning her head to reveal the binoculars that she is looking through. In post-production these shots were alternated between black and white positive and negative, the binoculars became screens for holiday destinations at all seasons of the year and a bee was keyed over the action both inside and outside of the binoculars.
