Fax (1987)

Concept and creative process

Opening titles for a series in which the panel attempted to answer burning questions from the viewers. As the title sequence was like a trail for the content of the show it needed nothing more than a strong programme logo. The ‘Fax’ logo was derived from a three-dimensional neon sign, seen at the beginning of the sequence and featured in the studio set decoration. The 2-dimensional version, shot on a rostrum camera, was used as punctuation throughout the remainder of the opening trail.
