Everyman - programme sequence (1980)

Concept and creative process

Programme content material for an 'Everyman' needed to give a strong religious context and style to the editorial. A stained glass window design was chosen for the sequences which were filmed in 35mm on a rostrum camera using two techniques. Illustrations were drawn on long cels and panned through camera on one level while others were placed on several levels of multiplane to give depth and parallax as they moved. Percentage type overlays were double exposed over the sequences.
