Titles by Doug Burd of a 1981 adaptation of John Wyndham's classic post-apocalyptic novel, ‘The Day of the Triffids’. A hospitalised man awakes to a world of the blind, plagued by nightmarish plants that feed on human flesh. In the opener one of a group of people anxiously scanning the sky is attacked by an unidentifiable amorphous object or being, setting the scene for worse to come.
