Concept and creative process
Opening titles for a series with garden designers Gordon Taylor and Guy Cooper visiting gardens across the UK on a grand tour in their 1964 Alvis convertible. The title sequence was conceived as an open-top safari through a garden world filled with gigantic exotic plants and flowers, which the intrepid designers experienced close-up from their classic car, shrunk to Lilliputian proportions. In the digital era such an ‘impossible’ scenario was perfectly achievable with careful layering of live action or still cut-out shots of the car and its occupants over the specially shot backgrounds.
