Concept and creative process
Programme content for the documentary series ‘Crusades’ written and presented by Terry Jones of Monty Python fame. Four sequences were created as part of the programme itself. The script was written beforehand, but the voiceover and music were recorded after the graphic elements and sequences were created. The first sequence took the form of a cinema trailer in the style of a vintage Hollywood 'B' movie extravaganza. The type and styling was copied from various trailers sourced from Philip Jenkinson of Filmfinders (film resource company). The live action sequence itself was put together by Terry Jones and then supplied to us to add various graphic elements. The sequence was composited in a digital edit suite at the Framestore. Artwork consisted of photoset text manipulated in the edit suite.
