Concept and creative process
The BBC2 Curve ident ‘Escapist’ by FutureDeluxe was inspired by the idea of traveling through a sandstone cave; the aim was to create the effect of the cave fluidly passing by you just through the movement of the texture. The rock surface billows like cloth in the wind with the colours creating depth and a feeling of wanting to see beyond the curve. We used Houdini as the 2D software, with compositing in After Effects.
