Photography is both a craft and a language - and this digital photography course guides your development in both. You’ll master the practical and creative aspects of digital photography, building the skills to create, share and showcase compelling work across traditional and emerging practices. 

Our digital photography course is recognised by the Association of Photographers (AOP) and aligned with the professional standards that shape the industry. You'll develop a distinctive visual voice, learn to interpret creative briefs, and build portfolios for exhibitions and competitions - engaging critically with contemporary visual culture and how this applies to industry.

Through collaborative projects, cross-discipline work and industry placements, you’ll develop a specialist portfolio and the skills needed for careers in creative industries, commercial photography and visual media.

Materials library

The Ravensbourne materials library is curated by Material ConneXion, a business that introduces brands to the latest material innovations.

The materials scientists at Material ConneXion select innovative materials relevant to the courses at Ravensbourne and that reflect current trends in design and manufacturing.

Samples of these materials are then added to the library so students and staff can browse the physical collection for inspiration, material ideas and applications.

The library hosts 1,500 material samples and an interactive table for further research and access to the Material ConneXion database.

External visitor information

The materials library can be used by external students registered with the SCONUL access scheme.
