The Other Half (1999)

Concept and creative process

Programme titles for a game show hosted by Dale Winton, in which couples had to guess the real ‘other half’ from among decoys by looking at clips of Dale in the couple’s home, and judging their body language in an on-screen kissing round. In a fun computer-animated sequence, inspired by the Yin and Yang symbol (the balance of two opposites), the designers explored the idea of compatibility between the sexes, attempting to find the perfect fit. This was achieved by the coming together of the two halves to form the logo. The sequence was designed and directed by Voom/Hilary Skinner.
