Concept and creative process
Chris Tarrant hosted a rock and pop music quiz. The titles were created in a 2D computer generated animation of flying and tumbling spinning discs, on which images of pop stars and rock groups had been composited. These were combined with the programme’s flying logo seen against a background of rotating rainbow coloured laser beams. The logo resolved to a metallic image over a static disc with the laser beams rotating in the background, before dissolving through to the studio.
