Tania Diez MA, BA (Hons)

Biography

Tania Diez is a graduate of St. Martins School of Art and The National Film and TV School, and was the recipient of the LWT award.

She was featured in Screen International and the Independent as a talent to watch. Her script The Secret Life of Girls was financed by MEDIA and selected for Equinox.

Her short film Scarborough Ahoy! won a Student Academy Award, and seven other awards, including a Chicago Golden Plaque, Jury Prize at Munich, Canal Plus prize at Poitiers and Audience prize at Angers. It was screened on Channel 4’s Red Light Zone.

Two of her short films, Into the Forest and The Waiter, were screened on BBC TV. She received a commission by Film Four for the series, Spotlight on Talent, and she also won the Creative Film Award at the British Shorts Festival for her short, Memorias de Bernarda.

She has directed over 30 episodes of television drama, including London’s Burning, a BAFTA nominated episode of Casualty and Kay Mellor’s award-winning series Fat Friends.

In 2017, Tania held an exhibition in Marylebone of her latest photographic work. She is currently developing her feature film, Elsewhere.
