The Department of Design Practice brings together professional skills, knowledge, and experience to create a dynamic discipline producing adaptable, creative thinkers with a high level of technical skill.
All the courses are underpinned by the creative use of digital technology and students are continually successful in achieving awards in competitions ranging from D&AD to YCN.
We teach our students a wide range of practical skills, whilst allowing time for interaction, play, collaboration, and exploration. All of our graduates leave us with a firm understanding of how to understand a design problem and answer it.
The London design world is on Ravensbourne’s doorstep. We encourage our students to gain industry experience in leading brands, answer live briefs and enter festivals and competitions. The school regularly hosts designers and makers, offering our students insight into their work and design today.
Our students are offered individual attention and each person is allowed the freedom to grow, develop and decide on where they may see themselves as a designer.
Louise Prideaux, Deputy Dean
I chose Ravensbourne because it was a very forward thinking institution and all elements of new technologies would be included in the course structure. I like that my course is so multi-disciplinary with opportunities for collaboration with students from different courses.
