Screenwriting for beginners
So, you've got ideas for films and TV series?
Always thought you'd like to see if you can write?
Think you can do better than content you've seen on screen?
This is the course for you. This short course will arm you with all the tools you need to structure and develop the seed of an idea, to create multi-faceted, well-rounded characters who speak in a believable fashion.
We'll explore finding the right genre for your idea, theme, subtext and how to imbue your writing with layers. We'll also cover the practicalities of writing and the opportunities for getting your work out there and provide a solid grounding in the current film and broadcast landscape.
At the end of this course you should have your film/TV idea well mapped out and structured and the opening 10-15 pages of scenes written. You will be armed with the screenwriting knowledge to complete your screenplay and get your idea to first draft script.
An intermediate level screenwriting course will later give you the option to develop your idea to a well-honed second draft screenplay with industry feedback.
