Create your own statement necklace

Create a unique fashion statement by designing and producing your own stylish necklace. Throughout this exciting and hands-on course, you'll get to experiment with various techniques of fashion jewellery design using acrylic and jewellery design.  You'll learn how to transfer your design into a digital format, learn how to create your piece on a laser cutter and assemble your statement necklace. 

This course provides an innovative environment for anyone with a creative flair and a passion for cutting-edge, modern accessories.  Perfect for creating a show-stopping piece of jewellery to wow your friends, or to give as a Christmas gift to a lucky person!

Learning outcomes

On completion of this course, you'll have learned and experimented with design technique and developed your jewellery making skills. You will have learned basic Photoshop and Illustrator skills, as well as how to effectively and safely using laser cutting equipment. You'll also finish the course with your own unique statement necklace

About your tutor: Carol Wiseman 

Carol works in jewellery and accessories design within the fashion industry for over last 10 year creating accessories for catwalk collections. Designers include; Danielle Scutt, Louise Goldin, Julien Macdonald, Gharani Strok, Avshalom Gur, Miki Fukai, and most recently Hussein Chalayan for AW14. Carol has also worked with many high profile fashion stylists, creating pieces for editorials in magazines such as Purple, ID, Dazed & Confused, Arena Homme plus. Alongside this work Carol has launched her own fashion jewellery collection, which is now recently represented by HPR London. Carol has also collaborated with lingerie designer Lascivious, and also with Coco de Mer

Carol has been teaching at Ravensbourne for several years on the Foundation Diploma Fashion & Textiles Pathway. Having gained a BA in jewellery design from Glasgow School of Art, and an MA Fashion from Central Saint Martins, Carol specialises in both accessories and in fashion. During her time at Ravensbourne Carol has also taught on the BA Fashion Accessory Design.  Prior to teaching at Ravensbourne, Carol taught at Colchester Institute on both the fashion foundation course, and on the BA in 3D product design.
