About the tutor: Alberto Villanueva
Alberto Villanueva is a Spanish architect. He holds a Master of Architecture from the European University of Madrid and a MA in Environment Design at Ravensbourne with a distinction, where he has developed a project researching the possibilities of 3D printers and new materials in the colonization of planet Mars, as a solution to generate architectures in extreme environments. Project noted by The Royal Academy of Arts and featured in publications like Dezeen, designboom, Archdaily, The Spaces or DesignCurial.
Currently he is sessional lecturer for the postgraduate courses. Alberto also teach for the Contextual Studies unit (Theory and Context and Dissertation Preparation), coordinates the Postgraduate Mentoring Programme and is lecturer for the Greenwich Digital Skills.
Alberto is the Head of IDEA architecture office, a multi-disciplinary firm based in London that creates and innovates in architecture and design. IDEA's projects have a strong connection to the natural environment, new technologies and anticipate the demands of society. Enduring, classical design principles permeate the work, yet mingle with new trends in design and architecture.
Alberto's academic projects cover a wide range of scope in scale and have significantly diverse projectual approaches. His academic work and research included sites like Spain, South Korea, China, Slovenia, Italy, France, EAU, United States or even the planet Mars.
