Samantha Silver is a Technical Tutor based in the prototyping facilities. Her emphasis is focused around textiles, graphics, print, and fashion. On a day-to-day basis, she works with the sublimation printers, embroidery machine, UV printer, risographs, and other specialist equipment. She is currently working to expand her knitwear knowledge further by learning the digital knitting process.
Born in Iowa in the United States, Samantha studied at Iowa State University. She graduated with a BS in Apparel Creative Design as well as a BA in Performing Arts Dance. During her time at Iowa State, she studied abroad for six months at London College of Fashion during which time she interned as a pattern cutter for a knitwear design company. This sparked her interest for life in London, which pushed her to return to complete her Masters.
During Samantha’s free time she runs the staff book club and plays on a volleyball team. Samantha enjoys travelling and is trying to visit every country in Europe. She is also learning Spanish and hopes to habla español con estudiantes in the near future.
