Martin Uren is associate senior lecturer in Broadcast Technology, responsible for delivering many of the technical units in the four undergraduate BSc courses in Broadcast Systems Technology, Broadcast Audio Technology, Broadcast Computing and Outside Broadcast Technology. His research area is stereoscopic 3D and VR, with a focus on the nature of the immersive experience.
Martin is entrepreneurial and a highly regarded professional in the media industry specialising in HD engineering systems, acoustic design, music recording and stereoscopic 3D productions. He has extensive experience of designing and delivering technical training for media organisations in a broadcast environment. He compiled the BKSTS Illustrated Dictionary of Moving Image Technology, published by Focal Press, and had a paper on eTeaching and eLearning in engineering education published in the HEA Journal. Several of his collaborative 3D short film productions have been shown in 3D film festivals in Los Angeles, Seoul, Barcelona and Prague.
