Marta Phillips OBE was The Pensions Advisory Service’s Chief Executive and Accounting Officer from April 2010 to July 2013.
Under her leadership she significantly improved The Pensions Advisory Service’s productivity and service quality resulting in the service becoming one of the Department for Work and Pensions strategic partners for the delivery of its automatic enrolment policy.
Prior to that, she was Director of Compliance at the National Lottery Commission, Head of Finance for the European Social Fund Unit in the Department for Education and Employment where she successfully managed annual programmes of over £600 million, worked for Midland Bank plc, now HSBC, in its International Audit Department and on Treasury systems development, and The Stock Exchange. She trained with Ernst & Young and is also qualified Project Manager for Information Systems.
She was created an Officer of the British Empire in the 2006 New Year’s Honours List for services to social housing.
She has held a number of non-executive roles including the chairmanship of Viridian HA, previous named Servite Houses and Executive Chairman of Ujima Housing Association where she successfully lead its corporate rescue. She was also a Trustee of the east London charity, Newham Riding School and Association for over 22 years where she raised almost £1 million to relocate the riding school in 1995.
