Julie Van Severen is a Belgian-born graphic designer and illustrator, based in London. She graduated from Sint Lucas in Antwerp in 2005, and holds her MFA degree from the Werkplaats Typografie in Arnhem, The Netherlands — where she studied under the supervision of Karel Martens, Armand Mevis (Mevis & Van Deursen), Paul Elliman, Maxine Kopsa and James Goggin.
Julie’s work started out in the field of illustration and fashion but throughout the years evolved more towards conceptual projects, branding, typography and book design. However, she has never lost her love for drawing.
In 2010, she relocated to London to work for Graphic Thought Facility (GTF), and has worked there for over 6 years before starting her own practice. Julie has worked on a variety of projects ranging from branding to art catalogues. In collaboration with Paul Neale she worked for the likes of Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Rachel Whiteread... among many other artists.
She is currently combining design projects with lecturing in graphic design at Ravensbourne.
