Julia studied accessories design at the London College of Fashion, and went on to achieve a distinction on the inaugural year of MA Fashion and Environment at the same university. Following this in 2010 she was the co-founder of the award-winning fashion boutique and fair trade brand Here Today Here Tomorrow, where she continues as designer and co-director.
With approaching ten years experience in the industry as an accessories designer and maker, Julia has worked for brands including Gola Classics, Ally Capellino, Luella Bartley and Susannah Hunter. She has specialist knowledge of the fashion accessory and artefact design process from market, competitor and consumer research, initial design development and range planning through to final design specification. She has expertise in pattern cutting, prototyping and constructing 3D designs into high quality finished products. She has also managed overseas production for collections and has experience sourcing materials, components and trims for manufacture.
Julia has worked for several years in higher education both in teaching roles and as a researcher, working on high profile industry projects including partnerships with the United Nations and Kering. Her passion lies in supporting students to push themselves to achieve the best they can both creatively and academically throughout their studies.
