Ioanna is an expert in sustainable economic development. She teaches Sustainable and Ethical Environmental Management, and Project Management in Practice on the MDes Social Innovation course at Ravensbourne.
Ioanna is also currently managing the Green Mark environmental scheme run by GLE oneLondon. Through the Green Mark, Ioanna has had the opportunity to transform the systems and processes of a number of organisations in England and assist them in reducing the negative impact of their activities on the environment while achieving savings in operational costs and gaining new clients. In addition, Ioanna is working as an independent consultant on a number of assignments including research projects, as well as project development and project evaluations.
Her career has focused on environmental management, urban regeneration, applied economic research, project and policy development, life-cycle project management, strategic relationships and stakeholder management. She has extensive experience in developing and delivering successful multi-agency projects. She has been involved in numerous project evaluations and she knows only too well what is needed to make a project successful and how to turn around challenged projects.
She has UK and international experience in the private, public and voluntary sectors, EU organisations and the university sector. She has worked at a senior level within the London Development Agency (LDA), London Borough of Southwark, The Prince’s Trust, The European Foundation (Eurofound), and The Greek Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. She has also held academic posts, as a senior researcher at both Athens University (Department of Economics) and Panteios University (Institute of Regional Studies) and was a visiting researcher at the University of Newcastle (Centre for Urban and Regional Development Studies).
