Dr Gary Pritchard joins Ravensbourne bringing over 15 years experience in arts education leadership roles in dean positions at both Newport School of Art & Design and the University of Wales based at Cardiff.
More recently he worked at Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design where he was responsible for the launch and establishment of the private institution. His background is in television and print media as a writer, journalist, scriptwriter and filmmaker. His teaching expertise has seen him tutor across a range of subject areas including scriptwriting and various media communication technologies. His doctoral research saw him emerge as the leading British expert in developing talent in students, and he is passionate about seeing individuals reach their maximum potential. This talent theme runs as a foundational aspect of his vision for creative arts education. Students are encouraged to “bump into their talent” early into their academic study and this should create a trajectory for their career options when they graduate.
He has also worked as a consultant across many commercial, educational and entrepreneurial contexts including BBC, Diesel, LVMH, MTV, British Fire Service, Glasgow School of Art, Condé Nast, Haberdashers, Skillset, and Celtic Film Festival.
