Dominic Fitzgerald began his career working in theatre and radio as a sound designer and composer.
Working with BBC Radio Drama in London he completed score and sound design for Othello, Les Miserables and other more experimental output. He then moved into sound mixing for television working on documentary shows for the Discovery Channel. He was then offered a place to study the Sound Post Production MA at the NFTS. Many of the films he has worked on since then have won multiple national and international awards:
- 'Stand Up' won best animation at the Rushes Soho Festival, and best British film at London International Animation Festival.
- 'Elephants' won the Welsh Bafta for short film and the Best Creative Idea Award at Shanghai Film Festival.
- 'Bal-Honey' won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale 2010.
- 'Sofias Last Ambulance' won the best sound award at the Moscow Film Festival.
Dominic was also nominated for the MPSE Golden Reel Verna Fields Award for best sound editing for his work. He is currently working in sound post-production on both short and feature length film projects and is based in London.
