Caroline completed her MA (Hons) degree from the University of Edinburgh with a year at the prestigious Ivy League member, University of Pennsylvania (Penn).

A career in fashion buying with global sourcing responsibilities for international markets, led to invitations to teach fashion business, sourcing, buying, brand management, merchandising and marketing to students of the creative industries.

Experience in course development, lecturing and industry liaison for the University of Portsmouth at BCOT, the University of Surrey and The Surrey Institute, led to Caroline taking up a permanent position as Final Year Pathway Leader on BA Hons Fashion at the University for the Creative Arts. In 2007 she launched a new honours degree in Fashion Management & Marketing. This proved to be the fastest growing course at the University for the Creative Arts with 98% and 96% student satisfaction in the National Student Survey in 2012 and 2013 respectively making it the top ‘student accredited’ course of it’s genre within the UK.

A range of student development initiatives, innovative teaching and learning strategies, overseas recruitment activities and study abroad opportunities cemented her experience in running high quality ‘student centric’, industry focused courses.

Her success in the management of quality assurance procedures has led to invitations to sit on a range of external and internal validation panels and Quality Enhancement Committees. Caroline was a member of the highly successful, Fashioning an Ethical Industry (FEI) Steering Group from 2007-2010 and is currently the External Examiner for Istituto Marangoni in Paris and London. In 2013 she was awarded accreditation as a Senior Fellow of the HE Academy and joined Ravensbourne as Academic Development Manager for the Fashion Cluster the same year. She has additional responsibilities for partnerships and international development.
