Andrew’s career in fashion started at Nottingham Trent after which he undertook his masters at the Royal College from 1988-1990.
While Andrew has many accolades to his credit, he is perhaps best known for his part in the launch of highly-acclaimed fashion label Pearce Fionda in 1994 with friend and business partner Reynold Pearce.
Their distinctive design handwriting “structured tailored, monochrome, bias and asymmetric” led to widespread critical acclaim and recognition. The pair scooped many design awards including the Newcomers Award for Export in 1994, the New Generation Award at the Lloyds Bank British Fashion Awards in 1995, The International Apparel Federation (IAF) World Young Designers Award in 1996 and the Glamour Award at the Lloyds Bank British Fashion Awards in 1997. Their most memorable accolade was being nominated for British Designer of the Year in 1996 alongside Alexander McQueen and John Galliano.
The label was stocked by top fashion houses Liberty and Harvey Nichols as well as prestigious top international retailers while their designs have featured in a range of glossy magazines from Harpers & Queen to Tatler.
Andrew has taken an active interest in teaching and inspiring students throughout his career including a period at Brighton University, Manchester Metropolitan and more recently Northbrook. Andrew is now able to enjoy managing the Pearce Fionda diffusion label Pearce11 Fionda while imparting his amazing experience and knowledge to future young British designers.
