Honouring Pride Month
Ravensbourne University London continues its commitment to life-long learning by launching part-time postgraduate courses. The new options will allow even more students to access specialist leadership, creative practice and change-making programmes to transform their career. The part-time courses begin in September 2021 and will take place in the brand-new ‘Institute for Creativity and Technology’ building.
We’re thrilled to announce that applicants can now study part-time on the following postgraduate courses:
Starting in September 2021, the part-time postgraduate courses will be delivered over two years, involving one day a week teaching either face-to-face or online. Teaching will always take place outside normal office hours, with lessons planned for Monday evenings from 6.00pm – 9.00pm.
The courses are designed to give students complete flexibility to tailor learning around their existing, demanding schedules. The offer of either full-time or part-time postgraduate courses open up opportunities to those that may have had to make the difficult decision between learning and earning.

The part-time courses are perfect for professionals who are motivated to enhance their career without having to take a break to study. They are especially transformative for students hoping to develop significant work-related research projects to bolster their career trajectory. Our courses provide a research and practice-led framework to allow learners to take a holistic view of the impact of their professional practice, how it relates to their work and to the wider world of technological, social and economic transformation.
Our postgraduate students will be taught in our the brand-new ‘Institute for Creativity and Technology building which opened in spring 2021. The stunning institute building complements the growing Design District landscape and is just a short walk from the existing Ravensbourne building. It provides a space to explore new frontiers in cutting-edge design and media practice. Students and staff will be encouraged to explore materials and technologies, utilise rapid prototyping and laser cutting techniques, 3D digital printing and creative coding.
This is the first time that Ravensbourne has had a building dedicated to postgraduate study and innovation. The location in the blossoming Design District ensures that students will learn in an environment full of opportunities to engage with industry.
Director of Postgraduate Studies, Paul Sternberg says: “Both the part-time learners and their employers report of the benefits of our distinctive approach to teaching at Master’s level and express the importance of the connection between postgraduate level study and subsequent reward in careers. Key to this is the importance of flexible and part-time learning which has allowed the professional student a distinct route into higher level skills needed by their employer”.
As well as individual learners, organisations such as the Government Digital Services (GDS), Public Health England, BT and IBM have supported their employees to enrol on the Ravensbourne part-time Master’s programme as part of an industry commitment to lifelong and career learning.
