Lee Lapthorne holds the position of Programme Director for the Department of Fashion at Ravensbourne, leading the delivery of undergraduate courses BA (Hons) Fashion, Fashion Accessory and Textile Futures, BA (Hons) Fashion Buying and Brand Management.
Lee founded the ground breaking On|Off Presents platform in 2002, which showcases designers in Milan, Paris and as part of London Fashion Week.
With over 25 years’ experience in the fashion industry, he has worked with some of London’s most successful designers including Roksanda, JW Anderson, Christopher Raeburn and Faustine Steinmetz. He has delivered projects for organisations like Gucci, L’Oreal and the British Council.
As a lecturer, he has worked at many institutions including the Royal College of Arts and IMA Istanbul, additionally working as an external examiner at Central Saint Martins.
Lee’s research profile is focused on the innovation of multidisciplinary textiles printing techniques.
In 2019, Lee was appointed artist in residence at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust and his work archived by their collections.
