Kerry Masters BA (Hons), PGCE, MA

Biography

Kerry is the course leader for the digital television production degree. She worked for a decade in the television industry on primetime shows for broadcasters such as BBC, ITV, Channel 5, Living TV and Sky.

Kerry has experience across a wide range of roles from Researcher to Shooting Producer Director. She has worked on Factual Entertainment, Entertainment and Documentary series, as well Live Outside Broadcasts and Studio Shows.

Kerry worked on the first series of the hit show ‘The Hotel Inspector’ (Channel 5) and assisted in developing the generic running order for the format which went on to win a Royal Television Society award. She worked as a Shooting AP on RTS nominated Observational Documentary ‘Big School’ (Channel 5) and has Produced and Directed over 40 promotional videos and video news releases for clients such as Barclays and Vodafone, including interviews and drama reconstructions.

Kerry is an experienced lecturer, having worked in education for 12 years, teaching at both FE and HE level. She has a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (Post-16) and a Masters Degree in Television Production by Negotiated Practice. Kerry leads the course, managing developments in the curriculum and ensuring that TV students have the best experience possible. Her goal is to bring real world practices to students, preparing them for careers in the TV industry.
