Gabrielle studied textiles at Central Saint Martins. Originally a weaver with a life long passion for textiles, she is all about the fabric.
Fifteen-years experience in the product development side of the fashion industry and ten years working for global suppliers Dewhirst and Esquel has given her exceptional insight into international fabric sourcing and global manufacturing routes.
Gabrielle specialises in market research, fabric design, range planning, and critical path management.
Her customers have included the likes of Ted Baker, Fred Perry, Burberry, Next, Marks and Spencer, Target Australia, Country Road, Thomas Pink, Tesco and Adidas.
She has experience working with factories in countries such as the UK, Portugal, Turkey, Morocco, China, Bangladesh, Taiwan, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Indonesia. This has given her a clear understanding of the global market and expert insight into this varied supply base.
In 2016, Gabrielle launched her fashion and textile consultancy shinerhilldesign offering a service to brands that want to create a new product or create their existing product more effectively.
Gabrielle has lived and worked in New York and London and has previously taught at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Starting as a sessional lecturer for Ravensbourne BA (Hons) Fashion Buying and Brand Management in 2016, Gabrielle recently completed her PGCE in Creative Education and is an Associate Fellow of the HEA, she is passionate about developing an inclusive curriculum and supporting her students through their learning and onward into their careers.
