David Hunter is a multidisciplinary designer and programmer. Creating interactive experiences for spaces and screens, he uses data-driven computational design processes in education.
He is the course leader on the BA (Hons) User-Experience and User-Interface (UX / UI) Design course and a senior lecturer on BA (Hons) Graphic Design course.
Before joining the permanent staff in 2014, David taught at Ravensbourne University across multiple courses for four years. He introduced the Data Walking research project, which examines data gathering and visualisation for different audiences through workshops and sharing tools. The project has been presented at international conferences and events, with workshops taking place in multiple cities.
David worked for six years as a freelance digital designer and developer at a variety of agencies across London. He managed his own clients and was responsible for creating interactive content and applications deployed to event spaces and the web.
David studied Graphic Art & Design at Leeds Metropolitan University, gaining his Masters there in 2006. His work included investigating non-linear storytelling and interactive video, application development, as well as print outcomes experimenting with format and organisation.
