Farshid Mousavi, one half of the architects Foreign Office who designed the Ravensbourne building has just been awarded an OBE for services to Architecture
BA (Hons) Interior Design Environment Architecture student shortlisted for the RSA Design Awards
BA (Hons) Interior Design Environment Architecture student Vincenzo Damato has been shortlisted for the RSA Design Awards for his 'Salus' project. Salus is an artificial gravity module, proposed for the International Space Station, with the health and well-being of astronauts a primary consideration.
The winner will be announced on Tuesday 22 May, following an interview Vincenzo and the other eight shortlisted finalists undertook with a panel of judges earlier this month. The winner will receive a £2,500 prize from Natwest.
Layton Reid's Edudrome project featured in New London Architecture's Knowledge Capital Report
Layton Reid's Edudrome proposal has been included in the New London Architecture Knowledge Capital report which launched this month.
The Edudrome is a proposal for: "a new iteration of the learning landscape, a flexible hangar, into which the institution can grow and contract as its needs demand. It also allows the institution to partner with the local community, to provide knowledge sharing facilities, library, sports and meeting and conference rooms, to benefit all stakeholders."

Layton Reid appointed Visiting Professor and Visiting Researcher at ESNE
Layton Reid, Ravensbourne's Associate Dean for the Department of Architecture has been appointed as a visiting professor and visiting researcher at ESNE, a University School of Design, Innovation and Technology in Madrid, Spain.
The appointment comes with recognition of his "brilliant, research and professional record in the field of design and innovation."
BA (Hons) Interior Design Environment Architecture student awarded third place in the Amara Student Interior Designer of the Year Awards
Isabella Fancello, a student on Ravensbourne's BA (Hons) Interior Design Environment Architecture course has been awarded third place in the Amara Living 'Student Interior Designer of the Year' Awards.
She received a £1000 scholarship for her Scandinavian inspired interior designs in late March.

RIBA's South East London Architecture (SELA) group are encouraging the brightest and best architecture practices from across London to join them in a regular Practice Surgery at Ravensbourne. The drop in sessions will offer the chance for local practices to get involved with Ravensbourne's current projects, and afford students the opportunity to learn from established local practises.
