Fashion students from Ravensbourne have been shortlisted for prestigious fashion awards at high profile industry exhibitions Graduate Fashion Week and D&AD, with other students being shortlisted for the All Walks Beyond the Catwalk DiversityNOW! competition.

Seven students from Ravensbourne’s BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion course have been shortlisted for the All Walks Beyond the Catwalk competition which asks fashion students to present their vision of a future where diverse representation is the norm. Out of these seven, four students have been named as finalists which means Ravensbourne holds the most finalists and shortlisted students of any institution this year!

Additionally, students studying in the Department of Fashion have also been nominated for six Graduate Fashion Week Awards in categories such as styling and fashion marketing.

Max Saward, a student on the BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion course is now a finalist in both the All Walks Beyond the Catwalk competition and has also been nominated for the “3INA Styling and Creative Direction Award” at Graduate Fashion Week for his collection based around deconstructive fashion.

Max said: “Studying on the fashion promotion course has given me a huge amount of confidence. My tutors have been hugely supportive and being able to study and learn as though I’m already working in industry has been a huge help. I don’t feel as apprehensive for graduation anymore.”

Max is just one of two students nominated for two awards. BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion student Ellie Burns has been nominated and has won a pencil at D&AD for her project #FromSourcetoPlate regarding her promotion concept around AmazonFresh. She is also up for the “Fashion New Media Award” at Graduate Fashion Week.

Associate Dean for Ravensbourne’s Department of Fashion Caroline Gilbey said: “We’re really delighted with all the students’ award nominations this year, they’ve worked extremely hard and very much deserve to go on and win.”
