Success for Ravensbourne alumni

Rachel Houlden

Vidsy, a technology platform which connects industry creatives, has won a gold award and £25,000 as part of a prestigious business acceleration programme. Vidsy recently graduated from Ravensbourne’s incubation hub, a place which provides space, support and advice to growing innovative companies.

Vidsy Winning PicThe acceleration programme, called the
MassChallenge Accelerator, is held in six international cities and attracts the brightest brains in digital media and the creative industries.

Vidsy was one of 12 companies to win a gold award out of 122 that were shortlisted. Future Health, another incubation graduate was also successful in joining the MassChallenge Accelerator programme. Vidsy was then able to undertake a four month intensive business support programme with mentorship, workshops and networking to help benefit the business.

Going from strength to strength Vidsy is now also enrolled in the Founders Factory, an enterprise dreamt up by the founders of lastminute.com, which help to launch technology startups. Founders Factory is currently supporting Vidsy, only the third company to be selected, to grow their business and help raise investment.

Archie Campbell, alumni from the BA (Hons) Digital Film Production course and co-founder of Vidsy said: “Becoming an incubatee in Ravensbourne was hugely important for Vidsy. The atmosphere and location is perfect for start up businesses and the space is inspiring. It meant that we were able to enter these acceleration programmes for free.”

“If we weren’t housed in the incubation centre at Ravensbourne we wouldn’t have made as many contacts or had the opportunity to meet industry officials - it was invaluable.”
