In ELIA's top 150
Projects from Milot Pireva, currently studying for his Masters in Environment Design, and Sakib Hasan, BA (Hons) Architecture, have been chosen to feature in the top 150 artistic projects from across Europe.
The European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA) describes itself as "an innovative international platform" that aim to showcase talented graduating students and recent graduates from around the world to the world.
Layton Reid, Associate Dean and tutor to Milot and Sakib says, "This is a great start to our membership of the European League of institutes of Art and Design, which puts us at the centre of Design Education in Europe. To have two candidates selected and to be in the prestigious top 150 out of the many disciplines submitted by the members of ELIA is a rare honour.
Both these designers embody the best in Ravensbourne , producing dynamic , thoughtful work, with a real social consciousness."
Annually, the ELIA call for graduands and graduates to submit artistic projects from a wide range of disciplines in order to pick the best. These projects will be shown at the NEU/NOW Festival, which is an online and live event, this year it will be held in Amsterdam.
Milot says, "The project that got shortlisted is my BA (Hons) Architecture third year final major project. I submitted my work to ELIA because it's a prestigious student competition and allows for great exposure to the architecture world. I was honoured yet surprised that my project had been chosen."
The work must fit a certain criteria and are chosen by an international jury of artists, academics, and researchers in the arts.
"Layton has been a great influence and has not only helped us understand Architecture, but has lead us to compete with the best," says Milot.
