Ravensbourne Graduate becomes face of Established Wine Company

Pooja Kanabar

There’s a fresh face in charge at one of Penzance’s oldest established businesses. Max Holden, a 25-year-old marketing and design graduate from Ravensbourne College, London, has recently taken the reins at Mount’s Bay Wine Company.

The company previously overseen by Alan Beevor is now in the hands of a young man with little practical experience however makes up for this with his great deal of enthusiasm to maintain and improve the business.

“I thought that buying my own business would be a great step forward in my career” said Max.

“I’ve always enjoyed good wine with my family, am also very interested in the nuts and bolts of running a business and plan to get my WSET (Wines & Spirits Education Trust) level 2 diploma.”

Max’s father will be of assistance in his new venture by helping him in the shop. He plans to provide customers with good and knowledgeable advice about wine. He aims to provide a bespoke and personal service for them.

Other plans include updating the company logo, increasing the number of days that the shop is open from five to six days and expanding the online platform of his business.
