Louise Prideaux BA (Hons), PGCE, SFHEA, FRSA, MISTD

Biography

Louise Prideaux is the Deputy Dean for the Design School, with overall responsibility for Student Experience.

After graduating from Norwich School of Art with a first class degree, she started working as a graphic designer in the late eighties. Specialising in print, branding and typography, her clients included IBM, BMW, Nomura and DHL.

She also has over 20 years of teaching experience, and came to Ravensbourne in 2008, as Senior Lecturer in Graphic Design.

In 2011 she became Course Leader of the Graphic Design Degree course and initiated a student buddy system in the new open plan building to encourage collaboration and study support. Her students have won industry prizes including D&AD, New Blood yellow pencils, ISTD, RSA and YCN Student awards.

Since 2014 she has been an Associate Dean, and more recently Deputy Dean and has the additional overall institution responsibility for student experience. She initiated Ravensbourne Connect which enables students to work on cross-course projects with industry support.

Her role also includes working closely with the student union and the preparation for industry and student services departments. She also sits on numerous committees and panels in Ravensbourne, and is currently a staff governor.

Her academic interests include student motivation and promoting creative confidence, enabling collaboration and methods to support this, with an emphasis on innovative pedagogical approaches.
