Why do I need to register?
If you do not register for graduation we cannot plan for your attendance and make sure your guests will be seated.
My friend is attending a different ceremony, can I go to that one instead?
No, ceremonies are planned around set groupings of courses to ensure a smooth running order and to balance numbers attending each ceremony.
How do I buy guest tickets for my ceremony?
To book your (free) place and buy your guest tickets, please check your external email. You will shortly be receiving an invitation to your email address inviting you to register via Enet, the Ede & Ravenscroft site, where you can also book the correct gown for your course and your official graduation photography. Make sure you print out your tickets and bring them with you to your ceremony. Please have your Student ID number to hand before applying, you will be asked for this information. You are responsible for printing out your tickets, Ravensbourne will not be sending them to you.
Do I have to pay for my ticket?
All graduand tickets are free of charge. Only guest tickets are charged.
How much do guest tickets cost?
The charge of £25 (including VAT) for each guest ticket helps to pay for the cost of the ceremony. We do our best to keep costs, and therefore ticket prices as low as possible. The tickets include a complimentary programme and a glass of sparkling wine.
Can children attend the ceremony?
Yes, however it may last up to two hours, and therefore we do not recommend bringing babies or small children to the ceremony, and there is no ticket reduction on children occupying seats. When registering please tell us if you are bringing children so we can try to provide aisle seating should you need to go out during the ceremony. Children cannot sit with graduands, they must sit with the guests. Children under 14 must be seated and accompanied by an adult. There are no crèche facilities available at the venue.
I will not be bringing guests, do I still need to book?
Yes we still require you to apply for your own ticket, regardless of whether you will be bringing a guest or not, as we need to know that you are attending.
I’ve bought a guest ticket(s) that I no longer need, can I have a refund?
We appreciate that for reasons beyond your control you or your guest(s) may discover that you are unable to attend the ceremony. In order for us to provide you with a full refund we need to have all requests for refunds in writing no later than one week before your ceremony. We will not issue refunds that are requested after this time. We cannot issue refunds on the day.
What do I do if myself or one of my guests are disabled or have any special requirements?
When you register please provide details of any special requirements - such as wheelchair access. If we don't know your requirements well in advance, we cannot guarantee that we'll be able to accommodate them on the day. Please email the graduation support team with the details.
When do I need to register by?
Registration deadline for tickets, gowns and photos are TBC.
I applied for my graduate ticket but can’t attend/my plans have changed. What should I do?
If you decide not to or realise you cannot attend your ceremony after you have registered, please contact the graduation support team as soon as possible.
I didn't pass my course – can I get a refund?
Students who are unsuccessful will be refunded the full costs of tickets over the Summer period.
I need a visitor visa to attend Graduation – how do I apply for one?
Please be aware, if you are a visa national and your current Tier 4 student visa expires before your graduation date, you will need to leave the UK and apply for a standard visitor visa to come back into the UK to attend your graduation ceremony. The list of visa national countries is available at www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules. Please follow this link for a list of documents needed when applying for a visitor visa to the UK. You may be required to provide the same documents required for a visitor visa application at the British Consulate / Embassy or UK Visas and Immigration.
We will only issue a letter of invitation to support your visa application if you have passed your degree and have booked to attend your ceremony. If your guests require a visa to enter the UK, we cannot issue a letter until you have purchased their guest tickets. It may take up to two weeks to process some letters, especially during our busy periods.
The deadline for visa letter requests will be confirmed shortly.
The following information must be provided:
- Your full name
- Course title
- Ravensbourne Student ID Number
- The full names of your guests that require a visa, and their relationship to you
- Full postal address for letters
Please be advised that the letter of invitation from Ravensbourne is not required or necessary for your visa application.
NOTE: We reserve the right to stop issuing letters if we are too busy, or if the requests come in after the deadline. We will not write letters for people who issue us with unreasonable demands, or are rude to our staff.
What is my student ID number?
This can be found on your graduation invitation email. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any queries regarding this.
