What are the Big 4 Technology Trends Converging towards?
Jazz Rasool,
Researcher, Technology Enhanced Learning, Ravensbourne

"Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, Big Data and Virtual Reality will be converging to become a new set stack of technologies that will not just provide human centred benefits but humanity centred benefits. AI will no longer be run on processor-centric hardware consuming data but data-centric hardware using dynamically changing flow of processing resources operating on moving nanoscale computing units. Applied to Big Data with the traceability of Blockchain technology, trust will return to internet transactions making the Internet what it was supposed to have been in the first place, with 'fake news' being one of the first things to be eradicated as well as enforcing greater accountability of authorities. Utilising Augmented, Virtual and Mixed Reality will allow huge datasets and a multitude of digital relationships and connections between people to be visualised in a multidimensional space where social value can be readily represented, experienced and used, enhancing, enriching and evolving the creativity of humanity as a whole while doing less harm to the Earth".
