Coronavirus (Covid-19): back to the building

Ensuring a safe return

Autumn term 2020

Returning to the building

Following government advice we've recently been busy making plans for a safe return to the building this autumn and we've adapted our learning environment so that students can make the most of our facilities while maintaining social distancing.

Temperature checks

It is mandatory for all our staff and students to have their temperature checked before entering our building. If you are displaying any of the symptoms of COVID-19 please do not attempt to travel to or enter our building. Please contact NHS 111 and follow their guidance.

Face masks and protective shields

It is mandatory for all our staff and students to wear a face mask or shield (for those who are face mask exempt) whilst moving around the general circulation areas. Face masks and shields (for those who are face mask exempt) can be obtained free of charge at the front of house.

Social distancing

We have introduced a number of key safety measures whilst you are in the building. These include: one-way system for moving around the building, sanitisation stations and 2m social distancing markers.

The video below details all of our new safety measures, showing how we've adapted the building so students can safely enjoy our facilities.

We've ensured that everyone will have the space needed to learn, create and thrive.

Hybrid teaching

From this autumn, our teaching will move to a hybrid approach. Some of our classroom sessions will move online to allow the more practical elements that require access to our specialist spaces or equipment to continue to be available on site.

We have also expanded our library space, prototyping, making areas and individual study spaces for students to work in the building.
