Year of Graduation: 2013
I originally picked Ravensbourne because of its reputation and the fact that it offered me the degree of my choice. I was excited to be part of a great, reputable course and equally as excited to be there at a time when we were moving to a new building.
After graduating, I was lucky enough to start full-time work straight away and put my degree to use. I took with me everything I’d been taught at Ravensbourne and made use of every experience I was given. I also took the enthusiasm I had while studying to my professional roles.
I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in all the events at Ravensbourne and everything that came with it. I was always learning and always excited to be part of something new. I am grateful to have met the people that I did at university and still call them friends. Every time I was involved in something amazing with my fellow students was a highlight for me.
Post production was always something I was interested in and so I fought very hard to get into it after graduation. My long-lasting passion for the subject and my degree have kept me going even after so many years. But I wouldn’t change anything, and I will look to expand on my career goals even further.
Working in the sport industry has been eye opening for me and being part of the post production department has now become even more special. I deal with clients daily and I am part of an amazing team that helps editors and producers deliver a broadcast quality programme by providing technical support anytime needed. I have been experimenting with many broadcast related jobs throughout the years and have learnt so much from the experience.
Ravensbourne is a great place to evolve as a person and so I would encourage prospective students to check all that the university offers. Choosing the right degree is very important — you only realise that after you graduate and reflect on the opportunities you were given. Take advantage of everything that comes with this journey, because it is amazing.
