"I would describe Ravensbourne as fun, challenging but overall very rewarding and a fantastic foundation for my career."
Course: HND Professional Broadcasting
Year of Graduation: 2000
Ravensbourne appealed to me because of its reputation in the industry and very well equipped broadcasting facilities. It was the perfect foundation to my career. It gave me all the technical knowledge I needed to jump straight in and be a hands on producer and director.
For me it was all about the reputation within the industry.
I am currently the Executive Vice President Alternative Programming for Fremantle Media North America.
Before being appointed at Fremantle I served as co-Executive Producer and show runner on NBC’s 'Hollywood Game Night' and 'The Winner Is'. I was also the Executive Producer and show runner on the NBC pilot 'Surprise Surprise' as well as the Fox series 'Mobbed'.
In the UK, I was a producer and show runner for 'All Star Family Fortunes' and 'Grease Is the Word' (both for ITV1). I also served as show runner for 'Britain’s Missing Top Model' (BBC3) and 'The Smith’s Hotels for Two' (Discovery International), as well as series editor and show runner for 'The Race' (Sky One) and as producer of 'I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!' and 'Hell’s Kitchen' - again both for ITV1.
Developing and producing shows has been the highlight of my career and my advice to prospective students would be to work hard, stay focused and don’t be afraid to fail.
