"Ravensbourne has set me up for life out of education".
Course: BA (Hons) Digital Photography
Year of Graduation: 2016
What appealed to you about Ravensbourne?
The key thing that drew me to Ravensbourne and the digital photography course, was the industry based work and the fantastic photographic equipment that was available for the students to loan. The course being specifically digital also really appealed to me as I'm really interested in the latest technologies.
How has your degree from Ravensbourne helped you achieve your professional goals?
I am still in the early stages of my professional career, but I have been published in the Royal Photographic society for a project of mine and also it has helped me realise what part of the industry I want to break into.
What were the benefits that you experienced from studying with us.
I gained professional skills and relevant industry experience which would have not been possible if I hadn't attended Ravensbourne. We were given access to equipment that as a student I could only of dreamed of using and the opportunities to collaborate within Ravensbourne are vast.
Any highlights from your time at Ravensbourne?
Being published in the Royal Photographic society was a big highlight for me. I would never have believed that at the beginning of my university experience my work would be published there. It is something I am very proud of.
How is Ravensbourne different from other universities/colleges?
Ravensbourne and the digital photography course is very focused on the professional industry and getting students ready for the outside world. By providing the opportunities for students to attend events and talks with industry professionals, it gives students a valuable insight into what it takes to continue on the journey after university and creates a good network of contacts.
What advice would you give to prospective students?
Take in as much as you can and enjoy it, and yes everyone says this, but the 3 years do go so quickly. By the time you know it you'll be in your final year stressing over your final project.
