Rose Gridneff

Rose Gridneff is Programme Director for Design Practice, leading the delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Rose studied Book Arts at London College of Communication and completed an MA in Design Writing and Criticism, which focused on alternative propositions for design education.

A letterpress practitioner, she has worked collaboratively with Alexander Cooper under the name of Workshop since 2009. Creating primarily self-initiated work that investigates the boundaries of print production, they have exhibited and lectured internationally; with conferences including AIGA (USA), College Arts Association (USA), and ATypI (Barcelona).

She has undertaken residencies at the Plantin Moretus Museum (Antwerp), and Archivio di Sacchi (Milan) that explored the relationship between typography, print and location.

Rose is currently working on a collaborative research project with partners at UAL and Kingston School of Art that seeks to map and interrogate the extent and different applications of letterpress practice within design schools across the UK.

She has worked in Higher Education since 2006, teaching at London College of Communication, Winchester School of Art, University of Brighton, UCA Epsom and Kingston School of Art.
