Digital pattern cutting using Lectra Modaris
This unique course is aimed at professional pattern cutters who want to extend their skills to be able to work digitally, on computer, using Lectra Modaris. The course will introduce you to the basics of the pattern cutting program and then cover the most frequently used functions, using a variety of prepared patterns. Classic pattern cutting techniques will be used to illustrate new methods when working digitally.
The course will cover pattern preparation for digitising and use by subsequent personnel such as the pattern grader and lay planner. During the course all software commands and file structures necessary will be covered, enabling you to continue independently.
- Preparing a pattern for digitising
- Checking the pattern on screen, making amendments and creating additional pattern pieces on screen using the Modaris toolbox
- Preparing the pattern for plotting, marker-making and 3D simulation
- Plotting the pattern using a variety of print options.
On completion of this course you will be able to prepare and digitise a pattern, be familiar with the software commands in order to complete your patterns on screen as well as plotting or printing your pattern.

Maggie Stott trained as a traditional Pattern Cutter & Designer way back in the 70s and added grading and garment technology to her expertise while in the professional workplace.
