Timothy Payne, a student enrolled on BA (Hons) Editing and Post Production has been selected to receive a Royal Television Society (RTS) bursary.

Student Receives TV BursaryDuring his studies Tim will receive £1000 per year to help with expenses and living costs. He will also become a member of the RTS and The Hospital Club, a private members club for those in the creative industries whilst studying, and one year’s free membership at the RTS after he graduates. In Tim’s final year of study the RTS will also aim to set up mentoring opportunities with one of its members.

Tim saw the opportunity through the Ravensbourne Agency which advertises new opportunities from media and creative industry employers every month, ranging from full and part-time roles, temporary and freelance work, paid internships and work placements. Through the profile sections on the Ravensbourne Agency website employers can also post opportunities and invite applications.

Tim said: “I’m delighted to receive the bursary. Applying does take time but I’m really glad I put a few hours aside to do this.

“I’d encourage other students to look at the Ravensbourne Agency website to see what exciting industry opportunities come up in their field.”

The bursary scheme aims to widen participation in media and related industries and support talented students from lower income backgrounds seeking to pursue a career in television.
