Ravensbourne’s annual postgraduate showcase delighted visitors with its diverse, ambitious mix of projects and talent.
Titled 'Utopia', the event pledged to feature work that would present an ‘imaginative and compelling vision of the future of design and making’…and it certainly delivered.
Event highlights included a speech by Daniel Shiffman, Associate Arts Professor at Interative Telecommunication Program at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, who travelled from New York to address visitors at the opening night’s private view.
36 digital artists and designers exhibited in total with projects spanning a range of mediums and subject areas, from fashion to communications.
Deputy Director of Research Janthia Taylor commented on how the institution is developing in this space: “Ravensbourne is forging a unique place in higher education through its technology focused approach to creativity”.
Postgraduate students’ offered visitors an insight into their planning, research and development, with exhibitors’ keen to answer questions and discuss their projects. This work is the platform from which they launch their creative industry careers.
