Last week Ravensbourne was delighted to welcome award-winning Fashion East and NewGen-sponsored designer, Holly Fulton, as a guest on the Ravensbourne Late series of industry lectures and interviews.
In a candid interview, Edinburgh College of Art and Royal College graduate, Holly Fulton, talked about her journey as an aspiring fashion designer. Iain Bromley, Subject Leader for Fashion Promotion, and Ellie Weir, Fashion Promotion student, conducted a relaxed but enlightening interview with Holly who spoke about her work for top Paris fashion house Lanvin before setting up as a designer and head of her own label.
Holly inspired students through discussion about her interest in up-cycling items such as doorknobs, coiled springs and chain to create and inspire her jewellery pieces. She explained that the way in which she develops jewellery and clothing together to create a complete concept and "look" is one of her trade marks alongside her art deco, pop art and bauhaus inspired prints.
Ravensbourne Lates are a series of evening events featuring key, influential speakers who are at the forefront of the industry.
