Congratualtions to Ravensbourne alumni, Thomas Hillier, who together with his business partner, Pascal Bronner, have won the HClub100 award, offered by Hospital Club, in the Art & Design category.
Established in 2004, the Hospital Club is a private members’ club in the heart of London, offering members of the creative industries the space and facilities they need to create, connect and collaborate.
The purpose of the hClub100 is to optimize the Club’s unique position at the nexus of so many disparate industries to seek out and celebrate the champions of Creative Britain each year, inspiring connections to be made, collaborations to be born and creativity to flourish.
Now in its 6th year, the hClub100 Award awards seek to identify and celebrate the 100 most influential and innovative people working across Britain’s creative industries in the past 12 months.
In a new process for 2014, public nominations are scrutinized and discussed by 3-4 expert industry judges per category, culminating in a shortlist of which the top 9 names are award winners, with the 10th space per category being selected by public vote over a two-week period in September.
Tom graduated from Ravensbourne in 2004 with 1st class honours in Architecture. He is the co-founder of the FleaFollyArchitects practice. Established by Tom together with Pascal Bronner in 2012, FleaFollyArchitects are spatial-storytellers who use narrative to explore, discover and invent unique architectural propositions translating them into fantastical spaces that surround us.
They operate across the fields of architecture, design, fashion, contemporary art and installation to enhance and blur the thresholds of spatial design. No matter what the subject, their objective remains the same, to surprise and delight. Two projects the practice recently undertook are Grimm City & Modern Prometheus (pictured). Tom has recently exhibited at the London Design Museum (‘Grimm City’ Exhibition) and is the winner of the Grand prize of the International Competition ‘Unbuilt Visions’. D3 Gallery, New York, USA.
